The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is hitting Disney+ in a couple of days and excitement is already in the air as there's no doubt that the series starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will be bringing back the hard-hitting action a lot of Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have been missing.
The series will revolve around Sam Wilson's journey to becoming the next star-spangled Avenger after the original Captain America himself Steve Rogers passed the vibranium shield to him in Avengers: Endgame. However, the U.S. government seemingly disapproves of his new role and that's where all the conflict will begin.
And just like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will feature multiple villains but it's clear from the get-go that Baron Zemo (played by Daniel Brühl) is the main antagonist of the show and he's out to exact revenge on some of the members of Team Cap. That said, here are some of the big baddies already confirmed for the show and others you can expect to see.
Jon Walker aka the U.S. Agent will become the "official" successor of Captain America in the show but his true motives remain unclear at this point. He operates and answers only to the government and it's safe to assume that he'll be a thorn on the side of our heroes. However, it's worth noting that other iterations of the character in the comics end up becoming Cap's ally so I guess we'll just have to see how his character develops.
In the MCU, the Flag Smashers is a group of individuals, anti-patriots to be exact whose sole purpose is to oppose the United States government. Interestingly, in the comics, there's no such thing as "flag smashers" and only a supervillain named The Flag-Smasher existed and he operated alone. We're not quite sure who exactly these anarchists are working for but the chances of an actual Flag-Smasher appearing on the show still seems likely.

We haven't had a glimpse of the villainous organization for years since the Earth's Mightiest Heroes shifted their focus to battling extraterrestrial threats but I'm pretty sure the members of Hydra are still lurking somewhere, waiting for the opportune time to strike, and what better way than to make their comeback than in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will hit Disney+ this Friday, March 19.
