The entire comic book community is still talking about the latest "controversy" involving arguably the most popular superhero of all time Batman. Many fans were astonished after learning that DC asked Harley Quinn showrunners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker to take down a scene featuring Batman performing cunnilingus (oral sex) on Catwoman in one of the supposed episodes from the upcoming third season of the animated series.
After DC implied that superheroes shouldn't engage in obscene acts, the "Batalingus" situation became the subject of discourse over social media and even former Batman actor Val Kilmer had to get out of his Batcave to share his opinion regarding the matter. The Batman Forever actor didn't exactly give a definitive answer whether Bruce Wayne should perform oral sex on Selina Kyle or not, he instead chose to make fun of the issue.
Now, it's Justice League director Zack Snyder's turn to air his two cents about the matter, and boy, his reaction is causing a lot of people to freak out on social media. Taking to his official pages, Snyder threw massive shade at DC and said Batman going down on Catwoman is considered "canon", even posting an NSFW image of the iconic DC pair. Check out his response below:
It shouldn't come as a surprise that Snyder approves of the caped crusader being steamy with Selina Kyle. After all, he's always been a fan of the dark and gritty version of Batman and it translated through his body of work in both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the Snyder Cut. Meanwhile, DC has yet to issue a statement regarding the issue and while ignoring it sounds like the best way to go about things, the public perception of Batman could change forever if the matter remains unaddressed.
Speaking of the Dark Knight, Matt Reeves' The Batman hits cinemas in 2022.
