We're only a few months away from the premiere of Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League and last year's confirmation that the project will finally see the light of day after all these years sent chills up and down the spines of avid fans of the DC Extended Universe.

A lot of people are convinced that this new version of the 2017 film will fix everything in the DCEU and could eventually lead to a sequel. Turns out, that isn't in Zack's mind anymore. In a recent appearance in ComicBook Debate, Snyder revealed that he has no plans of continuing after his cut gets released in March.

He explains: "Look, I never thought I'd be here doing this. I didn't think I'd be finishing Justice League. The truth is, and it's been widely reported, and I have no issue, this is an old movie. This is a years-old movie I'm working on. The DC universe has gone and branched off and done its own thing and that's fine."

The Man of Steel and Batman v Superman director continued: "As far as what I did and as far as what my vision for what I wanted to do with these characters and the journey I wanted them to go on, it's well known that I planned on more movies, five movies or something, but I'm busy. I've got a lot going on. Is it cool that the fans have so much faith in the trajectory? Yes, it's amazing, and I couldn't be happier and I'm excited for them to see Justice League so they can really drink the entire elixir of Justice League. But, would I continue? I have no plan to. But like I said, I didn't think I'd be here, so who knows?"

Now, even though Snyder could potentially end his DCEU career after Justice League's release, that doesn't mean that the franchise will end. In fact, things are only going to get more interesting with projects like The Flash, Aquaman 2, and the recently confirmed Wonder Woman 3 waiting to be released.

The Snyder Cut of Justice League is scheduled for release on March 25, 2021, on HBO Max.
