Zico will help another boy group achieve fame and popularity this year.

In 2011, Zico started his career as a member of the boy group Block B. He expanded his career and started serving as a soloist, songwriter, composer, and record producer.

This time, he will debut a K-pop boy group under the label he launched years ago.

Zico's KOZ Entertainment To Debut Boy Group

KOZ Entertainment confirmed Tuesday (per The Korea Herald) that it would introduce a K-pop boy group this year.

The label, an affiliate of HYBE which was launched by the rapper in 2018, said that the new boy group would be officially introduced n May 30. The members will be its new artists in addition to Zico and singer-songwriter, Dvwn.

Fans have been eyeing whether the group would be one of the most successful debuts in 2023, as it would be the first K-pop act to be produced by a second-generation K-pop idol.

According to the news outlet, Kpop fans can expect the group to promote hip-hop since Zico has been producing music and artists in that genre.

Previously, Zico produced ENHYPEN alongside HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk and Rain.

Zico Praises Boy Group Already

Before KOZ Entertainment confirmed the new boy group's debut date, the agency and Zico already praised the group when the buzz about it emerged.

In February, SPOTV News said the boy group would debut in May. KOZ Entertainment confirmed the development and pledged to release more details in the next few months.

In November 2022, Zico attended the 2022 HYBE Briefing with the Community, during which he spoke highly of the upcoming boy group.

"The specific concept [of the group] is ambiguous to say. They will become a group that will present music which both the general public and fans can all enjoy," he went on.

While waiting for the group's arrival, Zico has been focusing on his solo music. He notably released several hit songs in the past years, including Any Song in 2021 and New thing in 2022.
