Additional information about BTS J-Hope’s military service enlistment has been released.

After Jin’s enlistment in December, hit BTS co-member J-Hope will soon start his service. BigHit Music confirmed the development in February, saying that the member applied for the termination of his enlistment postponement.

He, however, dropped the release of new music before starting his service.

BTS J-Hope Military Enlistment: Latest Update

On Saturday, J-Hope’s agency, BigHit Music, made a huge announcement on BTS’ Weverse, a fan community platform in the K-pop industry.

Per the label, the Arson hitmaker will join the military as an active-duty soldier.

"J-Hope will be enlisting in the Army as an active-duty soldier to fulfill his mandatory military service," it said, per The Korea Times. “We ask for your continued love and support for J-Hope until he completes his military service and returns. Our company will also strive to provide all the support he needs during this time.

BigHit Music also said there would be no fan event on the day of his enlistment. As of press time, the agency has not released complete details about J-Hope’s enlistment, including the date and the location of the military unit where he would be serving.

On the other hand, it urged fans to refrain from visiting the area to prevent the issues that could be caused by overcrowding.

J-Hope Already Shared an Update Before the Announcement

The announcement came after the dancer revealed his plans during a live broadcast. At that time, he said that his enlistment date was already set but did not disclose the details.

“I can't give you the details, but I have the date of my enlistment already. It's time to get ready," he said during the live session. "I think it is right to fulfill my duty as soon as possible and show you a maturer side of myself.”

Before leaving, he dropped several music projects, including on the street with J. Cole. It topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 80 countries across the globe.

J-Hope’s new song also landed on US Billboard Hot 100 songs chart’s No. 60.

He will be the second BTS member to serve in the military after Jin started his service in December.
