Yowamushi Pedal Gets Voice Actor Mamoru Miyano For HakoGaku Ace

When the second season of Yowamushi Pedal ended, the seniors and the heralded aces of the two teams, Shohoku and Hakone Academy, have graduated. Gone are the sempais who would guide the first years into the race.

And while we've seen the Shohoku team win the last Inter High, HakoGaku may stand a big chance in the next race. That's because the creators have already casted the HakoGaku ace for Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation.

According to Anime News Network, the new second-year HakoGaku all-around ace, Takuto Ashikiba will be voiced by Mamoru Miyano. There's a nice video clip that comes with the reveal, which Miyano reacts happily to the news. He also recalls having played another character in the first movie of the anime last year.

Ironically enough, his character Shin Yoshimoto is also an ace in his own school, Kumamoto Daiichi High School. It seems that only the aces are the fitting characters for Miyano-san.

Since Miyano-san is a seiyuu bias, I can't wait to see how he will be lending his voice to this one. The character art suggests that Ashikiba is the lazy type of ace, thanks to those droopy eyes. But we never know—especially with Miyano's voiced characters, there may be some hidden crazy lurking underneath.

Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation will premiere on January 2017.
