The official synopsis of Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 8, titled Legalese and a Whole Hoo-Haa, is now out and teases the return of the series’ original antagonist.
After the previous season's finale showed the Cooper family’s hardships, things are starting to get better for them in the current season. However, the true villain is about to enter their lives again and try to ruin everything.
The Coming of Young Sheldon Season 6’s True Villain
“Sheldon's database invention puts him at odds with the university,” the new episode’s official synopsis reads, per Futon Critic. “Also, the church takes issue with Meemaw's video store.”
According to ScreenRant, the show’s true antagonist is not a person but the church. The congregation is about to play a role in the Coopers’ life once again, and it will be targeting Meemaw’s (Annie Potts) video store.
How Does the Church Become the Villain?
Pastor Jeff (Matt Hobby) fired Mary (Zoe Perry) after the news about Georgie (Montana Jordan) getting his girlfriend, Mandy (Emily Osment), pregnant was revealed.

It resulted in Mary's faith crisis, but both George (Lance Barber) and Meemaw saw the good of it.
She has become more relaxed and fun to be with, making her more understanding to her kids and even more affectionate to her husband.
Her time away from the church is also seen as why she and George have rekindled their romance and gotten along better.

Hence, the church’s intervention in Mary’s life is seen as the true villain in the series.
Mary’s Return to the Church
However, The Big Bang Theory confirmed that Mary would eventually return to the church, resulting in her being “extremely judgmental and rude” again, thanks to her faith. So, when and how will it happen?
Though targeting Meemaw’s video store may not have a direct impact on Mary—aside from meddling in the commotion that may happen—it may be how she will discover her mom and Georgie has an illegal gambling den behind the video store and laundromat.

From there, she may return to the church.
But it may take a little while before it happens as the series may take advantage of the peace the family has before George's tragic death and cheating scandal.
Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 8 will be out on Thursday, December 8.
