Yoo Ah In will be further questioned once the drug test results come out.

Following the emergence of reports about his alleged drug use, the National Forensic Service processed his urine and hair samples for drug testing. The samples were obtained soon after the movie star’s arrival in South Korea from the US.

The initial results after testing his urine came back positive for cannabis. The drug is considered illegal in South Korea.

The results of the hair test are yet to be finalized, but the authorities announced they would question Yoo Ah In once the process has been completed.

Yoo Ah In To Undergo Additional Questioning

The Korea Times cited police’s statement Monday saying they plan to have Yoo Ah In undergo additional questioning once they get the drug test results on his hair sample.

The police previously questioned him over his alleged use of propofol, an anesthetic drug. The #Alive actor has reportedly been using the drug for non-medical purposes frequently since 2021.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (SMPA) started the case after receiving a report from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety alleging Yoo Ah In’s drug use. The initial results from his urine sample detected marijuana in his system.

It is expected they would question him again within the next two to three weeks.

Amid the investigation, the authorities have imposed an overseas travel ban on him. Meanwhile, his management company, United Artists Agency, released a statement after he tested positive for marijuana.

"Yoo has been faithfully cooperating with the investigation and will explain in detail about the problematic issues," the agency said.

Yoo Ah In Loses Projects, Deals Amid Drug Use Investigation

Yoo Ah In is facing losses as his upcoming flicks and current brand deals started to cut ties with him.

Although there is no confirmation yet, the public expects that the current investigation will affect his supposed appearance on Netflix’s The Match alongside Lee Byung Hun. His other films, Goodbye Earth and Hi.5, are reportedly waiting for the drug test results.

Meanwhile, his brands ultimately removed traces of him from their advertisements. MUSINSA, CROQUIS, NEPA and I’m Vita have since detached the companies from Yoo Ah In.
