Yellowstone just received its renewal for a new season, and fans are already talking about the possible plot of the fifth installment.

There is little to no information about the show’s new season. But, speculations and predictions have continued to become apparent, especially after its lead cast member, Kevin Costner, shared a few statements regarding the material.

A Prison Stint Is On The Cards For John Dutton

Kevin Costner seemingly revealed that his character, John Dutton, may spend time in prison in Yellowstone Season 5, according to Express UK. He made the “cryptic” statement in his recent engagement with Deadline.

The actor noted that John’s crimes could catch up with him, likely placing him behind bars. He stated that they are “all bound for prison” as they are “all linked together.”

He did not further elaborate the details, but this has become a deliberate giveaway that the Dutton patriarch will likely be in prison come Season 5 of the hit series.

Possible Reasons For His Arrest

Following Kevin Costner’s assertions, many individuals have reportedly wondered why he would be arrested in the new season. It is stated that John Dutton has not committed any heinous crime in the course of Yellowstone all by himself.

Reports recalled, however, that John “often asks his loyal ranch hands” to do the unlawful deeds for him. As added, the ranch has many “skeletons hidden away” in both literal and figurative senses.

It is also worth noting that the Dutton children have also become involved in various crimes throughout the series’ entire run. Some of the worse ones even took place in Season 4, particularly when Jamie had to prove his loyalty to his family.

While several questions continue to linger and emerge, fans and avid viewers will surely obtain answers when Yellowstone Season 5 premieres on Paramount Network. The new episodes will likely drop sometime this fall.
