It's no secret that Taylor Sheridan enjoys recycling his favorite actors in his productions. A new adversary emerges in Montana in Yellowstone Season 5, and the actor who plays her also appeared in 1883.
Claire Dutton Actor Traverses Taylor Sheridan Universe
Fans of 1883 might be familiar with Dawn Olivieri. In the prequel series, the actor played Claire Dutton. The Dutton family set out on their trip north with Claire, who was John's sister. Olivieri, however, only made an appearance in two 1883 episodes.
The Dutton family and their gang get into difficulties in the second episode when a few men show up at their camp. The males are told to leave by Claire, who also throws rocks in their direction. Later, the men attacked again, killing Mary Abel, Claire's daughter. Claire made the decision to end the trip after that. She fatally shot herself in the head.
Dawn Olivieri Joins Yellowstone Season 5
For Yellowstone Season 5, actor Dawn Olivieri returns to the Taylor Sheridan universe. The Dutton family and the Confederated Tribes of Broken Rock have issues with Market Equities and its CEO, Caroline Warner.
Olivieri plays Market Equities counselor Sarah Atwood in Season 5.
"The main goal is to get their project back in line," Olivieri said in featurette. Beth could have finally found someone who can match with her in Yellowstone Season 5.
"Sarah will be an adversary for Beth in a way that she's never experienced," Kelly Reilly added. "That's gonna be like two Goliaths. When she sees her opportunity, she'll take it."
Trouble Looming Over Beth Dutton
Yellowstone Season 3 introduced market equities. The company plans to purchase land from a number of Montana landowners, including the Duttons and the Confederated Tribes of Broken Rock, in order to construct an airport. Season 3's Roarke Morris serves as the organization's representative in Montana, but Rip kills him with a rattlesnake.
Schwartz & Meyer, the business Beth worked for, was also purchased by Market Equities. Bob Schwartz did nothing to prevent the termination of Beth when Market Equities took over. But in Season 4, CEO Carline Warner shows up and gives Beth a position, which she then exploits as a pretext to avenge Bob.
Beth is also plotting to demolish Market Equities, but her work isn't done yet. Despite the setback, Caroline is calling in the major guns in Yellowstone Season 5 in the form of Sarah Atwood.
