A recent update announcing when Only Murders in the Building Season 3 will begin production hints at the show's release date.

Only in Murders in the Building Season 1 saw Charles (Steve Martin), Mabel (Selena Gomez), and Oliver (Martin Short) unravel the mystery of Tim Kono's (Julian Cihi) death, who is eventually established to have been a close childhood friend of Mabel's.

Bunny Folger, the board president of Arconia who was murdered in the Season 1 finale, was the subject of an investigation by the trio in Season 2.

The stakes were heightened from Season 1 to Season 2, and various guest stars, including Amy Schumer, Cara Delevigne, and Shirley MacLaine, were introduced. Only Murders in the Building Season 3 has been ordered by Hulu in July 2022 after the show's performance proved to be even more successful than its debut season.

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Potential Release Date

A new Rolling Stone interview with Gomez provides an update on the status of Only Murders in the Building Season 3.

According to the actor, she will be traveling to New York soon since the show is set to begin filming in January 2023. Only Murders in the Building appears to have spaced out its filming windows by a year. Thus Season 3 is anticipated to release in July or August 2023.

The Hulu mystery-comedy series, created by Martin and John Hoffman, stars Martin, Gomez, and Short as an odd trio of strangers who band together to produce the eponymous true-crime podcast when a suspected death occurs in their upscale Upper West Side apartment building, the Arconia.

Critics have praised Only Murders in the Building for its portrayal of its subject matter and for the great chemistry between its lead cast, and reviews have generally been favorable.

Martin and Short were nominated for the show's Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Primetime Emmy Awards this year.

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Expectations

Grey's Anatomy's Jesse Williams has joined the Only Murders in the Building Season 3 cast, and with filming set to begin soon, fans can expect more casting updates as the show adds fresh suspects for Mabel and co.'s podcast.

There is still no indication on whether Cara Delevingne will return to reprise her role as Alice in Season 3, but with filming on the program set to begin in January, the specifics of Delevingne's future will be revealed eventually.

Season 3 is still relatively a mystery at the moment. One thing is certain, though: the show will continue where Season 2's cliffhanger ended, with Paul Rudd's new character Ben Glenroy passing away on stage from poisoning while acting in Oliver's play.
