All eyes are now on Yellowjackets Season 2 after the first season's traumatic and chilling finale. Thankfully, Christina Ricci, who plays the role of Misty, gives a major new season update, teasing that it will be crazier than the first.
Christina Ricci Teases Yellowjackets Season 2
In an interview with Watch What Happens Live, the iconic The Addams Family star talked about the second season of the thriller drama series.
She first shared her reaction to the first two episodes of the new season's script, calling them "crazier" than fans had seen in the first season.
"I can't say too much about season two except for that it's even crazier than season one," she said. "I was gasping reading the first two episode scripts."
She also revealed her excitement to work with Elijah Wood again after the 1997 movie The Ice Storm.
"Working with Elijah has been amazing; we're having so much fun, and yeah, it's been great."
The Lord of the Rings star joined Yellowjackets Season 2 as the season-long guest star Walter, per Variety. He's a dedicated Citizen Detective who will challenge Misty in ways she will never expect.
Season 1 Recap
The first season ended with several questions left unanswered. Jackie (Ella Purnell) died alone in the show after her teammates ignored her. At the same time, Travis' (Kevin Alves) brother, Javi (Luciano Leroux), went missing after the girls' hallucinogenic experience in the woods.
Lottie (Simone Kessell) was revealed to be alive and might be the founder of the cult. Natalie (Juliette Lewis) was then kidnapped.
Hence, Yellowjackets Season 2 is expected to solve these issues that the first season left.
Yellowjackets Season 2 Production
The second season's filming began in August 2022, and showrunner and co-creator Ashley Lyle recently revealed they were still "deep in production."
She predicted the filming would end in February; thus, the Yellowjackets Season 2 will be out sometime in 2023.
According to The Wrap, the show's team hoped to keep the series' release schedule of November. However, it seemed to be undoable.
"Nobody wanted to get back on the air quickly more than we did," Lyle said. "But we really rolled directly from finishing up Season 1 into Season 2. It's a deeply serialized story, and we wanted to make sure we didn't rush it and that we got it right. And so, this was the earliest we could accomplish that."
