The Multiverse Saga has opened an infinite amount of possibilities for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in Phase Four alone, we've already seen how the franchise can utilize the multiverse to great effect. The crazy thing is, we've barely even scratched the surface and the appearances of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Patrick Stewart in the MCU although mind-boggling were just appetizers for what's to come in the next few years.

Last year, Hugh Jackman was added to the mix making him the latest X-Men actor from the now-defunct FoxVerse to appear in the beloved franchise. Now, it appears that another mutant could be well on his way to the MCU and it's revealed by none other than Professor X himself.

Speaking with ET Online, Stewart confirmed discussions with Ian McKellen who apparently wants to enter the multiverse and suit up one more time as Magneto. According to the Star Trek icon who made his jaw-dropping MCU crossover in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the 83-year-old screen legend is also planning to appear in the MCU in some capacity.

Stewart said: "Actually, it went very well. He did say something like ['Hey, I would've done this!'], yes that's true. But we're not done, Sir Ian and myself. We're... we got plans."

McKellen was once rumored to be part of Doctor Strange 2 but obviously, Magneto never appeared in the film. Interestingly, the third Deadpool film is about to begin production sometime this year, and what better way for Erik Lehnsherr to return than to appear in the MCU's first mutant-centric film? Apart from that, an Avengers 6 involvement isn't also too farfetched to believe.

Deadpool 3 is slated for release in theaters on November 8, 2024. Meanwhile, Avengers: Secret Wars is eyeing a May 1, 2026 release.
