Shonen fights are typically about who throws the strongest punch and has the flashiest finishing move, along with power-ups and transformations. However, in the Sakura vs. Togame fight in Wind Breaker, the author takes it to the next level, creating a unique shonen dispute that fans will talk about for years.

Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for the Wind Breaker manga series, so proceed with caution.

Sakura Faces Togame Jo in Wind Breaker

Following the altercation between Hiragi and Sako, Sakura finally meets Shishitoren's deputy captain, Togame Jo, also known as Shaggy Hair.

It is the second-to-last fight in Bofurin and Shishitoren's one-on-one brawl, with the winner assuming control of the losing group.

So far, Bofurin has won three of its fights, and it would be unfortunate if Sakura broke their winning streak.

He has a raucous fighting style, but it is already clear that he is a highly capable fighter who can hold his own against several opponents.

Meanwhile, both Chouji Tomiyama and Hajime Umemiya have acknowledged Togame Jo's strength. After all, they had already clashed before Sakura moved to Makochi and entered Bofurin.

Wind Breaker’s Sakura vs Togame Fight Is a Clash of Ideals

Sakura and Togame have opposing ideologies in Wind Breaker. They hold divergent beliefs, particularly about the definitions of strength and power and how they should be used against others.

Shishitoren, unlike Bofurin, follows the ultimate creed of strength, which Togame believes in.

He adopted Chouji's mindset, which holds that everyone should be stronger than anybody else to feel the utmost happiness that genuine freedom can bring.

This is the primary reason Togame and Chouji have been recruiting strong individuals while rejecting those who are weak.

They do not soothe the weak, nor do they grant second chances to those who make mistakes, which brings shame to their name.

On the contrary, Sakura despises individuals who abuse their power, particularly those who persecute the vulnerable.

He feels it's extremely lame for someone to target the weak, knowing they can't fight back even if they try their hardest.

Worse, Sakura is appalled by the fact that some people, such as Togame, would rather forsake their members than protect them.

He dislikes seeing Togame punish his teammates simply because they lost to tougher opponents.

Sakura and Togame make an excellent match in Wind Breaker due to their vastly different perspectives. Their ideologies conflict, making this fight more momentous than previous ones.

The Sakura vs Togame Fight in Wind Breaker Highlights Vulnerability

As the fight unfolds, Togame and Sakura not only show their fighting prowess but also their vulnerability, which is rare in a typical shonen fight.

Instead of denying this aspect of themselves, they open up about it, as if they are the only two people that matter in the series. It is the ideal setting for both of them to address their difficulties.

While Sakura deals with Bofurin's culture shock and his difficulty understanding Hajime Umemiya's methods, Togame is dealing with personal issues that he is unwilling to address.

His fight with Sakura, however, prompts him to open his eyes. As it turns out, Togame hasn't felt true to himself since Chouji became the top dog of Shishitoren.

He was so concerned about Chouji that he failed to advocate for what he believed was best for the group.

Instead of enlightening Chouji by adhering to his ideals, Togame chose to champion Chouji and his transgressions.

He was so terrified of leaving his comfort zone that he didn't understand that he was gradually losing himself.

Sakura, on the other hand, is the type of person who will stick to his beliefs till the end.

He's not a pretentious man who prefers to go with the flow. He has his mindset, and he will push through anything without losing himself, no questions asked.

Wind Breaker’s Sakura vs Togame Fight Has No Clear Winner

Sakura wins the fight against Togame halfway through their match after the latter concedes, claiming he can no longer move, although this does not imply that Togame is the inferior fighter.

Togame lost the fight not because he is weaker than Sakura, but because he is preoccupied with personal matters and is unable to focus on what is most essential in front of him.

He also lost because he accepted Sakura's perspective on strength and power in general, admitting all of his flaws in the process.

If it comes down to a serious fight with no holds barred, it will be intriguing to see who emerges victorious amongst these two formidable fighters in Wind Breaker.
