Marvel Studios has been long overdue when it comes to teasing MCU fans on finally merging the iconic mutant heroes into the Multiverse. The most we got were getting mutant cameos on Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel, in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s open mutant villain, Namor. Of course, Patrick Stewart’s brief involvement as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Disney’s acquisition of Twentieth Century Fox came about in 2019, which makes no sense as to why MCU fans have yet to watch the X-Men canonically entering the world of Marvel. However, Brian Volk-Weiss, the producer for Vice’s Docuseries Icons Unearthed: Marvel, settles down the debate on whether Marvel Studios is doing the right thing on prolonging the introduction of X-Men into the MCU.
“I think it’s extremely smart and I know the reason for it and maybe that’s why I think it’s smart.” Volk-Weiss said in a recent interview with The Direct, “The reason is, these people think in five-year blocks, so… they can’t wake up one morning and be like, ‘Oh, [Disney CEO] Bob Iger just texted me. Now we own X-Men. Let’s put it into production.”

Given that Marvel Studios’ big boss Kevin Feige previously teased a sneak peek on how far the company works in building the phases, the X-Men have definitely bound themselves on an official release date, just not official enough to get its first public announcement.
Considering that Marvel is currently struggling in deciding their release dates for their films and series this Marvel Phase 5, especially since Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (despite being the film opener for Phase 5) became a box office failure, this is obviously not looking good for the future of the MCU.
Not to mention, a recent news on the MCU’s next big bad, Kang the Conqueror actor Jonathan Majors’ arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
For now, Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3 is slated to premiere on November 8, 2024.
