If there's anything fans learned about Donald Okafor, it is that he would stop at nothing to accomplish his goals and follow through to his plans 'til the end, even if it means killing the one he loves.

Despite being a one-episode character, Okafor (played by Craig Tate) left quite an impression on The Walking Dead fans, and up to this day, The Ones Who Live still echoes his name.

In this case, one of his most jaw-dropping scenes was when he finally revealed to Rick Grimes that he killed his own wife.

Seeing as Rick has been trying to escape the CRM to look for his wife, Michonne, hearing this news was a shock and deliberately mad to listen to.

However, Okafor claimed he had to do what was best for the community. He knew that as part of the soldiers, he had to take action for the greater good.

Okafor admits that he was involved in bombing Atlanta and Los Angeles. While this means he doesn't get to kill thousands of other people in Philadelphia, he did choose to kill his wife and 4000 Marines in the past.

In short, he intentionally let his wife take the fall, knowing full well that they both shared a common future goal for society.

Okafor was introduced as a strong and courageous character who stuck to his hold on his morals. In this sense, he was a firm believer that the CRM's brutal ways of "changing" society could be changed from the inside.

This is why he intentionally played off and chose to have Rick Grimes and Pearl Thorne rise to the top and gain the upper hand in this game.

Okafor knew that CRM and the world would get a better chance at life if these two worked together in higher positions rather than repeat the morbid ways the CRM had traditionally been doing right under people's noses.
