Whoopi Goldberg was recently involved in a major controversy. The View host made a shocking comment about the Holocaust that did not sit well with her fans and critics. The host’s statement resulted in her being suspended from the program. And there are whispers that she would quit her hosting gig altogether.
According to the New York Post, Whoopi Goldberg thinks that the network’s decision was unfair that’s why she’s threatening to quit the program.
“She feels ABC executives mishandled this. She followed their playbook. She went on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ and then apologized again on The View the next day. Her ego has been hurt and she’s telling people she’s going to quit. Suspension from ‘The View’ is like getting suspended from Bravo. The bar is very low,” a source said.
Whoopi Goldberg Turned To Food Following Her Suspension From The View
Globe, in its Feb. 28 issue, claimed that Goldberg is reeling at home. And the host doesn’t have anything productive to do, she has been eating nonstop to deal with the recent humiliation. In fact, an unnamed source claimed that the Star Trek: Picard star tipped the scales at 350 pounds.
“There’s growing fear this scandal could be the death of Whoopi if she doesn’t change her unhealthy lifestyle. She’s not taking care of herself. Her diet seems poor, her stress is high, she doesn’t exercise, and her anger levels are at their peak. Friends and medical experts have warned that she could be dead if she doesn’t turn things around fast,” the unnamed source said.
Whoopi Goldberg Thought Her Suspension Was Unfair
The unnamed source said that Goldberg couldn’t accept how her comment about the Holocaust was blown out of proportion. After all, she doesn’t think that she was wrong to say that the Holocaust didn’t have anything to do with race.
“She’s very angry about the way she’s been treated and insists her remarks were totally misconstrued although she does feel bad for causing any offense. The tragedy is she’s in free fall right now and it’s probably going to get worse before it gets better,” the unnamed source claimed.
With this, the unnamed source enumerated Goldberg’s recent health scares starting with her COVID-19 diagnosis, sciatica, pneumonia, and sepsis.
“Whoopi’s recovery was slow and took a lot out of her, so this new setback is the last thing she needs,” the unnamed source said.
Whoopi Goldberg Returns To The View
While it is true that Goldberg may have gained considerable weight in recent months, there’s no proof that she now weighs 350 pounds.
Two weeks after her suspension, Goldberg officially returned to The View, and it’s as if nothing happened. Her return confirms that the host-actress actress doesn’t have ill feelings toward the network or the show that she’s hosting.

Whoopi Goldberg Refuses To Retract Her Statement About The Holocaust
In fact, after she made her cryptic comments about the Holocaust earlier this month, Goldberg went on The Late Late Show With Stephen Colbert to further clarify her statement.
“It upset a lot of people. I thought we were having a discussion. When we talk about race, it’s a very different thing to me. I said I felt the Holocaust wasn’t about race. As a Black person, I think of race as something that I can see. So I see you and know what race you are,” she explained.
“To me, how can you say it’s about race if you’re fighting each other. You couldn’t tell who was Jewish, they had to delve deeply to figure it out. I don’t want to fake apologize. I’m incredibly torn up by being told these things about myself. I get it. Folks are angry, I accept that, and I did it to myself. I’ll work hard not to think that way again,” she added.
