Just when Kora (played by Sofia Boutella) and Gunnar's (Michiel Huisman) relationship has just started flourishing in Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver, and yet Kora wasn't given this chance to be by his side longer.

While Kora and Gunnar had each other's backs while battling against the Imperium, specifically against Admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein), someone fatally shot Gunnar right in the stomach.

One of the biggest twists Rebel Moon Part 2 introduced was the surprising return of Admiral Noble. Despite being killed in the first part, the Imperium soldiers saved him from his death fall and took his body to the cryo chambers, where he was revived.

This time, Noble is determined now more than ever to hunt down Kora himself.

During Noble's fight with Kora, Gunnar made it in the nick of time to save Kora's back from the villainous Admiral.

From a distance, Gunnar would take a shot at the Admiral's colleagues in an attempt to prevent his plans from moving towards victory.

Admiral Noble, however, who was quick on his hands and feet, saw Gunnar disrupting their capture and fight with Kora, and decided to shoot Gunnar right in the stomach.

This doesn't end up helping Noble's position, as Kora sees an opening and eventually pushes him down on the vent. As the vent rendered him immobile, Kora slashed his head off so as to make sure that he was actually dead this time.
