Kora and her fellow surviving warriors will finally return to Netflix this Friday in Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver. Just when they thought the fight against the Motherworld was over with the supposed death of Admiral Atticus Noble, Rebel Moon – Part 1: The Child of Fire ended with a major cliffhanger, with the Motherworld rescuing the Imperium military leader and bringing him back to life. This, alongside several loose ends that the first film left hanging, poses a lot of questions to many that the second movie needs to answer.

As the film director Zack Snyder revealed in an interview, Rebel Moon Part 2 is “the completion of the story,” so fans expect it to wrap up the space-bound epic. However, considering he also confirmed to Forbes that there would be a Rebel Moon 3, which would be the third instalment in the franchise, it remains to be seen how Kora and the other warriors’ larger-than-life saga will continue. So, before we delve into that continuation, here are the five questions Rebel Moon Part 2 needs to answer.

1. How did Admiral Atticus Noble get resurrected in Rebel Moon Part 2?

Kora’s battle against Noble on the Gondeval platform is one of the great climaxes of Rebel Moon Part 1. She broke his bones, stabbed him multiple times, and bashed his skull in with his bone staff, which eventually led to his fall from a massive height. Of course, this would make everyone believe that Noble was already dead, or so they thought.

The Imperium medical team arrived and hooked him up to the neurolink. As fluids started to get in and out of his body, the shrouded figures known as Kalis sent his consciousness to the astral plane to communicate with Balisarius, Kora’s adoptive father and the Imperium regent. This proved that though Noble sustained massive injuries and physical trauma, he was still alive, and the use of advanced technology helped resurrect him.

For Snyder, having Noble back as the main villain of Rebel Moon Part 2 was only logical. “The mechanics of having the Dreadnought being on the edge of the Motherworld’s domain,” he told Entertainment Weekly in December 2023. “That would mean they would have to go all the way back and get another guy.”

Fans could expect another showdown between Kora and Noble as the fight for Veldt and its people continues. “It’s a prize fight concept,” Snyder teased. “There will be a rematch!”

2. Is Princess Issa really dead?

The birth of Princess Issa changed her father, the King of the Realm Athander. Despite only setting his eyes on expanding the Motherworld, her arrival made him hopeful of having a more compassionate and peaceful universe.

As a Chalice, the Redeemer, and Pueri Salvatoris (the child saviour), Issa was meant to end wars and bring a new age of compassion to the Realm. However, knowing Balisarium had a thirst for battle and war, he would never let this happen.

Athander veered away from Balisarius and his allies, resulting in a coup that caused the king and queen’s death, along with the killing of their child during her coronation. However, with her ability to restore peace and order in the Realm, whether Issa is really dead is a big question.

There are several theories surrounding Issa’s demise, and one of them is Kora puts her in a safe location after seeing her bringing a deceased bird back to life. She believes in the young princess’ powers and goes against her adoptive father’s wishes to have the child killed.

This is probably the reason why Balisarium wants Kora back and executes her. Hence, Issa may still be alive and return in Rebel Moon Part 2 to restore peace and order in the Motherworld. However, fans should take this assumption with a pinch of salt, as nothing is confirmed yet.

3. Will Jimmy join the war in Rebel Moon Part 2?

Jimmy used to be a part of the slain king’s Imperium forces. But despite his great ability to fight, with his design to defend the royals of the Motherworld, he was only used by the current Imperium forces as a robot to move cargo when they arrived on Veldt in Rebel Moon Part 1. However, the character will now be put to good use in Rebel Moon Part 2. Well, his being a war machine will never mean nothing, and his rich backstory will be a waste if he only plays a minor role.

The second movie’s trailer features Jimmy joining the war, leaving him with no choice but to fight. He picks up a firearm and charges the battle against the Imperium as they make their way to Veldt to capture Kora and conquer the moon of Mara.

Well, this isn’t the first time that Jimmy goes into a battle after he helps stop a sexual assault in Rebel Moon Part 1. Certain events can trigger him to return to the battlefield, and with Snyder revealing that he has an expanded role in the sequel, fans are about to see Jimmy in action.

4. Who will lead Veldt after Sindri’s death?

Sindri was the leader of Veldt. He made the final decisions and spoke for the villagers when outsiders approached. This happened when the King’s Gaze arrived to restock food for the Imperium soldiers aboard.

But as Sindri refused, claiming the land could barely produce enough for its people, Gunnar revealed more information than needed, leading Noble to doubt Sindri’s reasoning. Noble started to strike Sindri repeatedly, which eventually resulted in his death.

With the threat of the Imperium’s return imminent, it’s a big question of who will lead Veldt and protect its people. Sure, Den took charge after Sindri died, becoming the father of the village, though with hesitations. But despite being Veldt's greatest hunter, could he charge up the fight against the Motherworld?

Of course, this remains to be seen when Rebel Moon Part 2 finally comes out. But as Kora and Gunner have returned to Veldt, they may lead the farming village themselves, choose the right leader to take Sindri’s place, or let Den continue leading the town.

5. Will Devra Bloodaxe help Kora in Rebel Moon Part 2 after Darrian’s death?

Devra Bloodaxe is the sister of Darrian Bloodaxe, and the pair is known for being the Bloodaxes. Together, they had successfully attacked the Imperium several times. Hence, it was no surprise that Gunnar tried to ask for their help to defend Veldt and fight the Imperium together in exchange for the surplus of grain they were growing in the Veldtian farming village.

However, as they already got the help of King Levitica to sustain their needs, Devra refused. But his brother, Darrian, answered Gunnar’s call and joined them and other rebels willing to fight for the threatened moon.

As the fight against Noble and his men on Gondival began, Darrian asked his people to support Veldt and went on his own to stop the Imperium’s ship from shooting following the death of his two pilots. This resulted in Darrian’s demise, and with the news of his brother’s death, Devra may return in Rebel Moon Part 2 to avenge her brother by joining Kora and her group.

Rebel Moon Part 1 is now available to stream on Netflix. Alternatively, Rebel Moon Part Two is set to be released on Friday, April 19.
