Who is Stronger: Deku or Bakugo in My Hero Academia?

My Hero Academia has a lot of strong characters. In fact, each character has his or her strength and weakness. Two of those are Deku and Bakugo. Fans have been wondering who is stronger between the two of them considering how powerful their quirks are.

Although their circumstances are a bit different, Deku got his quirk late unlike Bakugo who was able to harness his quirk at a young age, it still doesn’t erase the fact that Deku’s quirk is from Japan’s greatest hero.

Rivalries like Deku vs Bakugo are normal in the shonen genre. In fact, some anime fans might be familiar with some popular rivalries like Vegeta vs Goku or Naruto vs Sasuke. Take note that since My Hero Academia season 5 is still ongoing, we really can’t tell their skills until the end of the season which is why we will be comparing their skills and abilities until season 4.

As fans of the show recall, Deku and Bakugo had their first flight during the simulation on season 1. During that time, Deku has no control over his quirk which gives him a disadvantage. But he turned the situation around and used his quirk to ensure victory even if it means hurting himself.

Although we knew how the fight ended, in terms of asking who is stronger, it would be Bakugo since he has mastery of his quirk, and he can hold out in the long run without getting badly beaten like Deku. He didn’t use his full force against Deku that’s why he lost.

In their second fight during season 3, Deku improved a lot since he can do full cowl. He used this against Bakugo to close their gap in terms of quirks. Bakugo still won the fight with his quirk. The interesting thing here is that Deku was almost equal to Bakugo at this point.

By season 4, Bakugo got lesser screen time. On the other hand, Deku improved a lot as he was able to master Shoot Style, increase the power of One for All to 20%, and develop a long-range attack.

With this, we can say that as of Season 4, Deku is stronger than Bakugo but their difference is not that huge. Anything can happen in Season 5 and fans have to watch out for that. Get the latest update on the series here
