It has been made clear that Black Adam is not a hero but with an evil so powerful, the world would need someone to be their savior and an anti-hero would probably do. The villain, Sabbac, is arriving, but who is he and how did he become a formidable foe to the titular character?

Who is Sabbac, The Villain of Black Adam?

To reiterate, Black Adam isn't a hero, he's an anti-hero, but he might be just what the world needs in facing an evil so vile and powerful that others would not stand a chance, only he could take on Sabbac, the villain of the movie.

In the comics, Sabbac is known to be one of the oldest villains in the DC lore as his first appearance traces back to 1943. There are three versions of Sabbac: Timothy Karnes, Ishmael Gregor, and Geoff Johns. In Black Adam, it will be Ishmael Gregor.

Played by Marwan Kenzari, before he became Sabbac, he is Ishmael Gregor, a Russian immigrant who established Intergang, a criminal organization in New York and he got demonic abilities after stealing it from Karnes following a ritualistic massacre.

The exact opposite of Black Adam who was powered by six ancient Egyptian gods, Sabbac's powers are from six demons, the worst in the DCEU -- Satan, Asmodeus, Belial, Beelzebub, Aym, and Crateis. Spell out the first letters of each would be "Sabbac."

Sabbac proves to be a force to be reckoned with given his abilities of superhuman agility, strength, flight, endurance, and fire projection. All these would be possessed by the host once he utters the name "Sabbac."

While he is powerful in his demonic form, more than once, he has been defeated through killing the host once the person transforms back into being a human with all the vulnerabilities and mortality. Still, with the wits of a demon, Sabbac would be hard to trick.

DCU's Black Adam is currently in theaters since October 21.
