Karol G is making her acting debut on the Netflix miniseries, Griselda. The series follows the true story of Colombian Queenpin, Griselda Blanco. So, who is Karol G in Griselda? Here's what we know about her role.
Who is Karol G in Netflix's Griselda?
The Colombian singer/songwriter will be making her acting debut in Griselda, a biopic with the titular role played by Sofia Vergara. To make things more interesting, Karol G stars in the series as Carla, a drug mule working for Griselda.
In the short trailer, we see Karol G wearing an animal print top and is barely recognizable, thanks to her brown hair. Like the other female characters in the show, Carla appears to both admire and fear her boss.

Karol G's Griselda Preparation
One reason why Karol G decided to grab this role is because "there's real character development." (via Hola!) Karol G says:
"Carla is a character that evolves. She sees what she does as a job, but also as a way to maintain her family, and she's tough! She reaches another level."
In another interview with Vogue México, she says that the experience of being an actress was "another universe."
The singer also shared how she prepared for her role as Carla. She said that she worked with an acting teacher who helped get her in character. Karol G also said:
“When you’re not an actor, your goal is to do things well, so they’re credible. But in acting, you really get inside a character, and you forget about what people want.”
Why Did She Ask for a Small Role in Griselda?
Karol G also shared that she was "super nervous" about the role. When they first approached her, she was offered a different character in the biopic since they "wanted [me] more in the series."
However, Karol G declined and said that she did not feel she was ready for the challenge. She also pointed out that this was her first foray into acting. Given said that, she wanted to "start learning first" by accepting a lesser role.
Despite her small role in Griselda, it's impossible to think that she will be a forgettable character in the biopic. Her presence alone demands attention and people are already looking forward to seeing her in more roles in the future.
