Who is Pablo Escobar? Meet the "King of Cocaine"
Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria is another Colombian drug lord who was known as the head and "sole leader" of the Medellín cartel.
Born on December 1st, 1949 in Colombia's city of Rionegro, Antioquia, he was born into a family of seven children while being raised by a schoolteacher mother and his peasant farmer father.
Escobar's early life of crime began when he was stealing tombstones and selling fake diplomas, before eventually turning to car stealing and entering the smuggling business.
In 1975, Pablo allegedly killed the drug trafficker Fabio Restrepo to seize his power and expand the operation himself. Tons of coca paste were purchased in Bolivia and Peru to be transported to America.
He earned the nickname "The King of Cocaine" when he got to take the reigns over 80 percent of the cocaine shipping over to the United States.
Now, considering that Griselda Blanco, aka the "Cocaine Godmother", worked for the Medellín cartel, too, did she actually work with Pablo Escobar?

Did Griselda Blanco Work with Pablo Escobar?
Blanco and Escobar's past is a complicated history to tell, but no, she did not work for Escobar. In fact, it remains unclear whether they even met or knew each other for working under the same cartel.
There may have been disputes over how Blanco is linked with Escobar's drug smuggling, some have even gone so far as to claim they were deadly rivals.
Perhaps it's because both drug "kingpins" ruled their drug-trading empire with an iron fist, ruthless in killing anyone who got in their way.
As per Inside Edition, the rumors started when Blanco met her second husband, Alberto Bravo, who was a small-time drug dealer. He was responsible for introducing her to the Medellín cartel.
While the two have seemingly never met before, there's a chance they may have recognized each other by their infamous nickname within their drug smuggling circle.
