Jujutsu Kaisen sure has some overpowered characters! The special grade sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen have incredible (and at times absurd) abilities that make for some death-defying fights!
But just who are these special souls, and what is it that makes them so powerful?!
What is a Special Grade Sorcerer?
All of Jujutsu Kaisen's sorcerers are ranked depending on their ability, with most new students starting at grades three or four. As they progress, they go up through the ranks.
However, very few sorcerers will ever make it to special grade, which is reserved for anomalies and generally dangerous people.
The special grade sorcerers have the strength to wreak havoc on the world if they wish, which makes these characters so interesting!
Without further ado, here are all the confirmed special grade sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen:
One of the most recognisable characters from the series, it’s clear from the very start that Satoru Gojo isn’t your average jujutsu sorcerer.
For those who don’t know, Satoru Gojo is one of the main teachers at Tokyo Jujutsu High.
Gojo also serves as a protector and mentor for many new students, including Yuta Okkotsu in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Yuji Itadori in the main series.
Often, Satoru comes across as a laid-back and comedic person. However, behind his blindfold not only lies immense power but a particularly angry and dangerous individual.
Thanks to Satoru Gojo’s power, he is widely regarded as the strongest character in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Gojo has the ability to activate Domain Expansion at will multiple times in a day, alongside exceptional martial arts skills. He’s also very tactically aware in combat, making him almost impossible to overcome in a fair fight.
The most dangerous thing is that Satoru knows that he is the strongest. His self-awareness makes many in Jujutsu society uncomfortable, as Satoru seemingly controls everything in the palm of his hand.
Suguru is one of the main antagonists of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He received his training alongside Satoru Gojo and was once considered his equal before their views clashed.
Suguru carries a burning hatred for normal human beings that developed during his time in training, believing them to be a lower race compared to sorcerers.
Suguru is an exceptional fighter in hand-to-hand combat and has incredible cursed energy that he can manipulate expertly.
However, what makes him most dangerous is his cunning, which surpasses anybody else. Suguru often forms pacts with cursed spirits to launch surprise attacks on jujutsu sorcerers.
Yuta Okkotsu is the main protagonist in the prequel story Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Similar to Yuji, Yuta Okkotsu was an ordinary kid with no intention of becoming a jujutsu sorcerer. However, when he becomes haunted by the cursed spirit of his childhood friend Rika, he ends up under the tutelage of Satoru Gojo.
Due to his connection with Rika, it’s believed that Yuta actually has more cursed energy – and potential power – than anyone else, including Gojo.
However, Yuta is much less experienced than any other special grade sorcerer and initially struggles to control his power.
Despite being naturally timid, when forced into a corner, Yuta is able to utilise all his power, seemingly comfortable with killing enemies to protect his friends.
Later on in the story, Yuta becomes a cold-hearted and powerful executioner working for the Jujutsu Headquarters.
Yuki is arguably the most distant and normal of the four special grade sorcerers. She operates separately from the Jujutsu High system that most sorcerers are part of, choosing to go her own way to create a world in her image.
While Yuki doesn’t appear much in the story until the Shibuya Incident, she is one of the main influences behind the outspoken Aoi Todo.
Yuki convinced Aoi to become a jujutsu sorcerer, provided some early training that resulted in his trademark scar, and gave him the signature phrase “What kind of girls do you like?”
Similar to Suguru Geto, Yuki has her own ideas about the future of mankind, believing that humanity needs to break away from cursed energy entirely.
Yuki hasn't appeared as much as the other special grade sorcerers, but from the few times we've seen her, it's clear she is tough enough and smart enough to go toe-to-toe with pretty much anyone in the story.
