Which Hashira Die in Demon Slayer?

When the Hashira were first introduced in Demon Slayer, they seemed immortal. After all, they are considered the strongest demon slayers. This means they are the best of the best and have killed tons of demons in the past.

But after what happened to Rengoku in the Mugen Train arc, fans were faced with the reality that even Hashira can die too.

Rengoku's death certainly left a mark and prepared the other Hashira for their upcoming battles. But preparation is not the only thing needed when you are about to face Muzan.

Obanai and Mitsuri followed Rengoku's fate during the battle against Muzan. The two suffered from severe injuries that led to their death.

Muichiro was neither safe, as his death occurred during the Infinity Castle arc. His skills and experience proved no match for the Upper Moon One.

Worse, he was stabbed, cut, and ripped apart by Kokushibo, ensuring that the Mist Hashira was dead.

Sadly, Shinobu also experienced a brutal end. Fans did not expect her to die, knowing she was always one step ahead of her enemies.

She used her intelligence during her final moments as she consumed 81 pounds of poison before facing Doma, the Upper Moon who killed her sister.

However, her sacrifice was worth it, as he died because of the poison he acquired after eating her.

Gyomei was the last to die during the final battle with Muzan. His death occurred after he lost his leg.

Thankfully, his death was peaceful as he passed away while seeing his foster children.

Sanemi and Giyu survived the final battle but had to die because of their Demon Slayer Mark. This mark limits the lives of the Hashira to up to 25 years only.

Once the two reached this age, they had to face their curse and die.

Who Among the Hashira Survived?

The only Hashira who survived is Tengen. After the Entertainment District arc, he had to retire with his three wives.

His injuries from Gyutaro and Daki were so severe that he lost his eye and arm, rendering him unable to continue with his duties.

Even though he was no longer part of the Demon Slayer Corps, Tengen contributed a lot to the organization.

He was also one of the Hashira who helped Tanjiro and the others improve their skills.

Unfortunately, almost all of the Hashira died, but their deaths were not in vain as they saved humanity.

All of their contributions led to Muzan's end, resulting in the long-awaited peace that the demon slayers and humans longed for.
