The first season of Star Trek: Lower Decks premiered in August 2020 as part of Alex Kurtzman's expansion of the franchise. The animated series, created by Rick and Morty's Mike McMahan, follows the misadventures of the support crew serving on USS Cerritos, one of Starfleet's least important ships.

Lower Decks was an instant hit with Trekkies in the US when it premiered on CBS All Access but has yet to be enjoyed by international fans. Luckily, the first season of the animated Star Trek series is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
