Helck: The Mightiest Human Hero of the Demon Empire

Believe it or not, the demon empire has a human hero, and guess what? This human hero named Helck hates his own kind more than anything in the world due to their toxic and corrupt nobles who want to control the world for themselves!

In the Helck manga, humanity’s strongest hero, named Helck, goes to the demon empire to win the next demon king tournament.

Of course, Lady Vamirio of the Four Heavenly Kings suspects Helck of his true intentions for the tournament.

Does Helck really hate humans, or is it an act to fool them into letting their guard down?

With a power level of 99, Helck is a force to be reckoned with. Not even Vamirio or Azudora can stand up against him if it goes down to a fight.

This is the reason why Vamirio needs to be careful around Helck, in the midst of the rise of the human army and the downfall of the Urum Kingdom.

But as Vamirio got closer to finding out the truth about Helck, winged human warriors suddenly appeared!

You’ll never know what will hit you as the plot gets revealed, and you’ll never recover from the darkness of the manga.

True enough, Helck has a lot of mature themes, such as bullying, violence, and torture, but most notably, the pain and grief brought about by these themes to the manga readers!

It is a fun and easygoing ride in the beginning, but you’ll find yourself riding a roller coaster of emotions, so be prepared!

Later on, Shogakukan decided to produce a new edition of the Helck manga volumes, which feature color pages and new covers!

Afterward, Viz Media announced that it had already licensed the manga series for English publication.

In total, the Helck manga has amassed 12 volumes spread across 106 chapters! The new edition has 11 volumes, with the fifth volume in English arriving on September 12, 2023.

Moreover, the manga series also had a spinoff in 2018 titled Piwi: Fushigi na Ikimono, written by Nanaki Nanao and published under Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday Comics and in the MangaONE app.

Another related manga, titled Volundio: Divergent Sword Saga, was also released in 2020.
