This HBO Max series has been one of the most popular shows last summer. Right before the finale episode aired, the streaming platform revealed that they have renewed The White Lotus for a second season.

HBO already revealed that The White Lotus Season 2 will be returning for a second installment. According to HBO's official announcement, the second season will be entitled: The White Lotus: Sicily and is a testament of where season 2 was filmed.
There will be a number of changes in place for The White Lotus Season 2. For starters, the second season will focus more on the stereotypes between genders and sexual jealousy. The show is also set in Sicily, which is far different than the first season, which was based in Hawaii.
Another key difference between the two seasons is that The White Lotus Season 2 will have seven episodes compared to the six episodes included in the first season.
If you're wondering when The White Lotus Season 2 release date will be, HBO Max has announced that the show will be coming out in October 2022. A specific date, however, has not yet been confirmed. But it is said to make its premiere a month after the Emmys.

Where Does The White Lotus Take Place? Which Hotel is The White Lotus?
Like many viewers, you may be curious to know where The White Lotus takes place or whether there's a real hotel called The White Lotus.
And as it turns out, the hotel used in the first season is a real property in Maui, Hawaii. But no, the hotel is not actually called The White Lotus. Instead, it is named the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea.
The five-star resort actually costs a lot of money to stay in with rates that start at $1,940 to $25,000 per night. But there's plenty of reasons to justify that price. The hotel comes with a number of impressive amenities throughout the property: an oceanside golf course, 24/7 fitness center, kid activity programs, three pools, three restaurants, and on-site Missoni and Jimmy Choo stores. The hotel also offers helicopter rides and whale watching excursions.
Do take note that the actual hotel does not look exactly like it does in the show. Each room in the series has been specially decorated to match the personality of its occupant.
For The White Lotus Season 2, show creator, Mike White, decided to take things internationally. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, White said: "We would go somewhere different because there's no way we could be able to afford the Four Seasons in Maui. So yeah, it would have to be The White Lotus: Kyoto or something."
As confirmed on the show's official Instagram account, The White Lotus Season 2 will be based in Sicily, Italy.
For the second season, the cast and crew started filming in February 28, 2022 and lasted until July 2022. They shot their scenes at the Four Seasons San Domenica Palace in Taormina, Sicily. In an interview with Vulture magazine, White revealed that the cast had recurring nightmares while they were filming at the hotel, which was built inside a renovated convent.

The first season of The White Lotus was comprised of a star-studded cast that starred Jennifer Coolidge (as Tanya McQuoid), Murray Bartlett (as Armond), Connie Britton (as Nicole Mossbacher), Alexandra Daddario (as Rachel Patton), Jake Lacy (as Shane Patton), Steve Zahn (as Mark Mossbacher), Sydney Sweeney (as Olivia Mossbacher), and many more.
As for The White Lotus: Sicily cast, HBO confirmed that Coolidge will be the only series regular who will return in the second installment. Coolidge shard to Deadline that the second season is "a different show" that is "even more complicated than the first."
Speaking to IndieWire, White revealed that there will be a few characters returning at some point in the second season.
"I don't think you can credibly have [all the season one guests] on the same vacation again. But maybe it could be a Marvel universe type thing, where some of them would come back."
White also said that they "only made one-year deals with the actors. So we'd have to find out who is even available."
It was also reported that Jon Gries will be back to reprise his role as Greg. He will be continuing his romance with Tanya in this season.
