The Lincoln Lawyer is no stranger to film enthusiasts. In fact, before its first season aired on Netflix, the legal thriller was actually a novel written by Michael Connelly. It was then adapted into a couple of movies before it joined the streaming service as a series in May 2022.
With its release, the show catapulted itself into a crowd favorite, joining the ranks of other Netflix legal dramas like Suits and How To Get Away With Murder. And now, fans are asking, is there a The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2?

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2: Is It Happening?
Back in June, Deadline revealed that Netflix has renewed The Lincoln Lawyer for a second season. The announcement actually came as no surprise since the show became an instant hit with a cumulative 260.53 million viewing hours less than a month of its release. This is one of the fastest renewals that Netflix has made in recent years.
Netflix took this opportunity to announce the big news by tweeting a short clip of Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (as Mickey) sitting on the back of the iconic car as it is being driven away.
What Will The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Be About?
Considering the series is based on Connelly's books, it's exciting to see more seasons ahead for The Lincoln Lawyer. There is definitely a lot of source material to get ideas from and make future seasons.
But for The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2, Netflix has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the second season will be about Connelly's fourth book in the series entitled The Fifth Witness. The Lincoln Lawyer Season 1 was based on the second book, The Brass Verdict.
The report also confirmed that Season 2 will have 10 episodes in total.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Cast & Crew
We can expect the major characters to be back for the second season. The list includes:
- Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (as Mickey Haller)
- Becki Newton (as Lorna Crain)
- Neve Campbell (as Maggie McPherson)
- Angus Sampson (as Cisco)
- Jazz Raycole (as Izzy Letts)
- Ntare Mwine (as Detective Raymond Griggs)
- Krista Warner (as Hayley Haller)
Netflix also confirmed that Campbell (as Maggie McPherson) and Newton (as Lorna) will be reprising their roles as Season 2 regulars.
We should also expect a few new characters to be added in the series, considering the fourth book introduces a new case to our protagonist.
Behind the camera, Dailyn Rodriguez (from Queen of the South) has joined The Lincoln Lawyer as executive producer. She will also be working with Ted Humphrey and David E. Kelley as a co-showrunner.
In October 2022, The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 added Lana Parrilla to the cast as Lisa Trammell, a chef and community advocate who fights against a real estate developer.
Shortly after the announcement was made, Yaya DaCosta was also cast as Andrea Freemann, a prosecutor who will be Haller's rival in the courtroom. Freemann also happens to be Haller's ex-wife's friend.
When Will The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 be Released on Netflix?
Unfortunately, Netflix did not yet reveal the release date of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2. But sources believe the show will return in the spring or summer of 2023.
There is no word yet on whether filming has begun.
