The premise of Knock at the Cabin is that it is a home invasion that takes place in the middle of an apocalypse. The film's trailer follows Eric (played by Ben Aldridge), Andrew (played by Jonathan Groff), and their daughter Wen (played by Kristen Cui) as they take a break in a cabin. Unfortunately, their vacation is interrupted by Leonard (played by Dave Bautista) and his three friends. The trailer also reveals that Leonard is trying to stop the apocalypse and needs to sacrifice both Andrew and Eric in the process.

This is all we know about the story so far since it is the only information revealed in the trailer. But the film is actually adapted from Paul Tremblay's novel entitled The Cabin at the End of the World. The book highlights the seven-year-old girl as she fights for her life from four strangers at the remote cabin where she and her parents are vacationing in.

While it's possible that Shyamalan has followed the general plot of the book, it's likely that the movie will follow what the book details. After all, the acclaimed director is known for the many twists and turns in his stories.
