After a long hiatus in the entertainment industry, Lindsay Lohan is back and she's determined to revive her crown as a talented and serious Hollywood star.
And in order to do that, she has signed a deal with Netflix to make a couple of movies. The first movie, Falling for Christmas, has already been unveiled with a release set for November 10th. As for her second movie, Irish Wish, little is known about it at this time. Here's what we know about this romantic comedy:
Irish Wish Release Date: Has It Been Announced?
Not yet. In fact, Irish Wish has not even started filming yet. Production for the film is set to start on Monday, September 5th, and will run through Friday, October 14th.
Following its title, the movie will be filmed in Dublin, Bray Head, Killruddery House and Gardens, Westport, Lough Tay in the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland West Airport Knock, the Cliffs of Moher, and several locations throughout Ireland. This was revealed by Michael Damian, who is currently in Ireland preparing for the production of Irish Wish.
Since filming is just about to start, that also means we can't expect a release date for Irish Wish anytime soon. If things go according to plan, the movie may be released either in early or mid-2023.
Irish Wish Story
As shared by Netflix, the official synopsis of Irish Wish reads:
"When the love of her life gets engaged to her best-friend, Maddie puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland. Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be. With her dream seeming to come true, Maddie soon realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely."
It's a little reminiscent of another Lohan movie, Freaky Friday, where she starred opposite Jamie Lee Curtis. But instead of the parent-daughter body-switch plot, Irish Wish alters the reality of Maddie's world.
This is Lindsay's second Netflix-bound film that marks her return to the industry. Her other movie, Falling for Christmas, will be a holiday rom-com where she plays the role of an engaged heiress who wakes up with a case of amnesia.
Both movies will be directed by Janeen Damian. She also co-wrote the screenplay for Irish Wish together with Kirsten Hansen, Ron Oliver, and Michael Damian.
Irish Wish Cast: Who'll Be In It?
At this time, the Irish Wish cast has not been announced. Only Lindsay Lohan's role as Maddie has been divulged by the streaming platform.
But we can expect the other cast members to be revealed once filming starts.
It's good to see Lindsay return to the spotlight. While she's been acting since she was 11 years old, she has chosen to appear in smaller films in the early 2010s instead. That's because she focused on opening beach properties abroad.
In an interview with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen in 2019, Lindsay expressed her desire to "get back the life that I worked so hard for and [share] it with my family and you guys."
The actress also recently tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend, Bader Shammas.
