When Does the Next Transformers Movie Come Out?

Transformers 7 has an official release date. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will release June 24, 2022 will star Dominique Fishback and Anthony Ramos. Michael Bay will not be directing.

From toys to cartoon shows to films, Transformers made a solid groundwork of its name making it a notable name in each industry. Transformers films built an empire of a franchise with 5 sequels on the line, even siring a spin-off with Bumblebee. Known as the 13th highest-grossing film series, when does the next Transformers movie come out?

When is the release date of the next Transformers film?

Transformers made its debut in 2007 as a titular film. It has been followed by Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009, Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011, Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014, and Transformers: The Last Knight in 2017. All these five films are under one director, Michael Bay, who then produced the spin-off directed by Travis Knight, Bumblebee in 2018.

Paramount announced that there would be one Transformers film which will be released on June 24, 2022 as reported by Deadline. When this was announced, there were two separate films under the franchise that are reportedly active in the works: a sequel to Bumblebee and a Beast Wars film.

Reportedly, there would be a reboot of the whole franchise. In an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, one of the two films announced by Paramount in March 2021 would not be connected to the main Transformers series. The standalone film would be under the direction of Angel Manuel Soto and the script of Marco Ramirez.

Along with these films, an untitled prequel film having the working title of Transformers One would be under Josh Cooley's direction. It is said to be an animated film where it would focus on the origin story from Cybertron, to introduce where Optimus Prime and Megatron first linked. This film is likely to separate and apart from the film from the live-action series and would be under Paramount, eOne, and Hasbro.

The franchise has been eyeing a "Transformers Cinematic Universe" for quite some time now. Originally, there was a plan for a Transformers 7 which was supposedly scheduled for June 28, 2021. However, said the project was removed due to the negative reception that the film franchise was facing. Still, it was confirmed in 2018 that a film with that title is actively in development but there is no new update yet about what happened to the film.

Will Optimus Prime be in Transformers 7: Rise of the Beasts?

The great news is that Transformers 7: Rise of the Beast has already been officially announced. It will be a direct sequel to the Bumblebee film and the story is going to be heavily influenced by the Beast Wars storyline. The film is set in 1994 starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback.

After Bumblebee, it is the time to shine for Optimus Prime as he has been confirmed to have the G1 treatment. The story will be following his roots back in Brooklyn, New York, and Machu Picchu, Peru. The film will be directed by Steven Caple Jr. and it would be a joint-venture production of eOne and Paramount Pictures.

Transformers 7: Rise of the Beast is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 24, 2022.
