Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their senior royal roles in 2020. Since then, the couple rarely returns to the U.K., but the Duke of Sussex admitted that he still misses the royal life.
Prince Harry and Meghan made several revelations in their hit Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. In the last episode of the six-part series, he revealed what he missed most about his royal life.
Prince Harry Misses Royal Gatherings
Despite reportedly having a strained relationship with the royal family, Prince Harry still misses royal family gatherings.
“I miss the weird family gatherings when we’re all sort of brought together under one roof for, you know, certain times of the year. That I miss,” he said.
Of course, he also misses his friends.

“You know, being part of the institution meant that I was in the U.K.―so I miss the U.K., I miss my friends,” he added.
However, he admitted that he had lost a few friends along the way as he decided to leave the monarchy and move to California.
Prince Harry Reveals Reason for Moving to Montecito
Prince Harry also revealed the reason behind his decision to move to Montecito with his wife, Meghan Markle, because he was “changed.”
“I changed to the point that I’d outgrown my environment. Therefore, this was the most obvious place to come,” he explained.

Aside from that, Montecito was the same place where his late mother, Princess Diana, potentially would end up living if she didn’t die in a car crash in 1997.
“There’s times when I’ve been angry, but I can’t be that angry because I genuinely feel that I―and we ― are exactly where we’re supposed to be,” he added. “We’ve made it to the other side.”
Prince Harry Takes Full Responsibility for Leaving the Monarchy
Meanwhile, Prince Harry takes full responsibility for their decision to leave the monarchy.
As news about the two’s departure began, the term Megxit was formed, widely blaming Meghan for their exit.

"How predictable that the woman is to be blamed for the decision of the couple. In fact, it was my decision," he confessed. "She never asked to leave. I was the one that had to see it for itself."
