As a padawan, Ahsoka Tano used two lightsabers. The first was a single-bladed lightsaber with a green blade, while the second was a shoto lightsaber with a yellow-green blade.

Green and blue lightsabers are the most common types for Jedi masters and their Padawan.

Both are colors associated with harmony, diplomacy, and peace.

Blue lightsabers tend to be associated with those who are more deeply immersed in the spiritual elements of the force, like Obi-Wan.

Green is often the color of more war-like wielders who focus on battle techniques.

A shoto lightsaber is a weapon that is shorter than the typical weapon.

These are reserved for Jedi who are too short to comfortably use a longer blade, as well as for those who yield two weapons at once.

After leaving the Jedi order Ahsoka left her lightsabers behind. She got reunited with them toward the end of the Clone Wars tv show when Anakin returned them to her. At that point, the lightsabers had turned blue.

The executive producer of Clone Wars mentioned that this change was made to show Anakin and Ahsoka's enduring bond -- remember that Anakin had a blue lightsaber before turning to the dark side.

After the brutal end of the Clone Wars, Ahsoka had to hide her Jedi powers so she left her lightsabers behind.

Since joining the Rebellion, Ahsoka fights with two white lightsabers, a never-seen-before color.

So far, Ahsoka is the only character in Star Wars to fight with white lightsabers.

Ahsoka made her second pair of lightsabers herself using the kyber crystals from the lightsabers of an Inquisitor she killed during the occupation of Raada.

While the Inquisitor's blades were red, she purified them with the Force.

White is a color associated with purity, cleanliness, and new beginnings. This makes Ahsoka's new lightsabers a perfect symbol for her fresh start as a Rebel.

Moreover, the unusual color indicates that Ahsoka is neither a Jedi nor a Sith but walks her own unique path.
