Obi-Wan Kenobi might reveal answers to questions fans have asked themselves for a long time, but, until and if this happens, the forthcoming show will reignite decade-long questions. For instance, there's a lot of speculation about the Obi-Wan's actions after Anakin turned to the dark side, but also his early life, before he started training Anakin Skywalker. So, did Obi-Wan leave the Jedi order?

Following the tragic events of the Revenge of the Sith - the sixth Star Wars movie in terms, of release order, but the third chronologically and the final of the prequel trilogy - there is little point in wondering whether Obi-Wan left the order.

After Anakin Skywalker turns to the dark side, beginning his descent into the villainous Darth Vader, he destroys the Jedi order, so Obi-Wan's actions following his failure to either save or kill his former apprentice wouldn't count as leaving the order.

Those who have watched the Clone Wars animated series, however, know that there was a time Obi-Wan almost left the order, and he did so for reasons similar to Darth Vader's, making the two characters perfect foils.

In Clone Wars, we meet Duchess Satine, the anti-war pacifist leader of the planet Mandalore, whom Obi-Wan was in charge of protecting when he was a padawan, in a manner similar to Anakin's assignment to protect Padme in Attack of the Clones.

In a moment of great peril, Satine told Obi-Wan that she's always loved him, to which Obi-Wan replied he would have left the Jedi Order for her had she said the word.

Of course, that budding romance did not continue. In that particular crisis, Anakin saved both Satine and Obi-Wan, with the latter returning to the Jedi.

In a later conversation Obi-Wan had with Anakin, he brought up these feelings, as he knew Anakin was close to Padme, but hadn't realized just how attached they'd become. During that conversation, Obi-Wan told Anakin that while romantic feelings in themselves weren't forbidden, they shouldn't compromise one's duty to the Order.

Later on, Satine was killed by Darth Maul in an attempt to break Obi-Wan - with unfortunate implications as she's not the only female character in Star Wars to suffer fridging.

While Satine's arc was more interesting than that of other female characters who suffered the same fate, Obi-Wan's unbreakable spirit and faith in the order might have been shown in a different way - especially since he and Anakin were portrayed as foils even without both getting love interests that caused to contemplate leaving the Jedi.
