What Is the Ya Boy Kongming Compilation Film About?
The Ya Boy Kongming compilation film is titled Ya Boy Kongming: Road to Summer Sonia, or Paripi Koumei: Road to Summer Sonia.
It has a release date of March 1, 2024, in Japan, and there’s still no word on whether it will get an international theatrical release outside of Japan.
This is the first-ever compilation film in the series that will recount the events that happened in the 12-episode TV anime released by P.A. Works in 2022.
It will follow the same plot, with Kongming arriving in modern-day Shibuya to start a new life. He crosses paths with Eiko Tsukimi, who wants to penetrate the music and entertainment industry as a singer and performer.
Kongming then decides to help Eiko achieve her dreams by becoming her manager.
Their mutual goal is to land a spot at the biggest festival in the country, Summer Sonia!
What Chapters and Episodes Will the Ya Boy Kongming Compilation Film Cover?
The Ya Boy Kongming: Road to Summer Sonia compilation film is a re-edited version of the TV anime, which features newly drawn scenes and footage.
It also features a new theme song called Resonance from the characters Eiko and Nanami.
Filmgoers should expect to see the events that happened in the 12-episode TV anime, which was also covered in chapters 1 to 29 of the manga series.
