Ms. Marvel is the next series to drop and with Kamala Khan in the MCU proves that the franchise is really holding onto their promise of diversification and representation having a 16-year-old Muslim Pakistani-American heroine from New Jersey. Her presence in the MCU widens the scope of the heroes in age, in religion, and in ethnicity.

From a typical teenager who pens superhero fan fiction, gets star struck with her crush, and tries to fit in, Kamala Khan’s life is about to change as she found a gauntlet in her attic that would make her like her idols and give her powers but as soon as the responsibilities kicks in, Kamala gets into something she never imagined, a new life as a superhero.

Appearing on Disney Plus, at first, Ms. Marvel has been listed a rating of TV-PG and while the rating means some scenes may still be unsuitable for younger children and strong parental guidance is still needed given that there may be some coarse language, suggestive lines, or moderate violence, for Ms. Marvel to have such a rating makes it the first of its kind under the Marvel Cinematic Universe roster.

Marvel Cinematic Universe movies get the rating of PG-13 and nothing less than that, and series are usually given TV-14 which is the television version of a PG-13. While WandaVision was first rated as TV-PG, it did not stick with the show as just before its release, it was given a TV-14 rating and watching the series, there are really some scenes that would not be suitable for children below 14 years old.

However, just like WandaVision, Ms. Marvel's TV rating changed last-minute and got a TV-14 rating, possibly for the action scenes which may have some violence, and possibly on the language used on the show because, teens, they can't just zip some curses. It's normal.

The show remains faithful to the source material it is based on even when the powers of Kamala changed. The target audience is still the younger MCU fans and surely, the show would play out, as Kamala said, "awesome!"

Iman Vellani will be portraying Ms. Marvel/ Kamala Khan and will be joined by Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha, and Laura Marsden. Reportedly, they would also be joined by Farhan Akhtar as well.

Ms. Marvel Episode 1 arrives at 3 AM EST on June 8, 2022, exclusively on Disney Plus.
