We're entering the MCU's Phase 5, which means it's the end of an era for its films in the last decade. With the release of the latest Marvel film, Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, things are getting a refresh in the Marvel superhero regime.
Case in point, the latest Marvel film introduces us to a new breed of superhero who is the daughter of Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd), Cassie Lang. Although we're no stranger to seeing Cassie on the big screen, this is the first time we're meeting Cassie, the superhero. Not to mention, this is the third actress to play the role.

Who Plays Cassie Lang in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania?
We're no stranger to Cassie Lang since she has appeared in the very first Ant-Man film. When she first showed up, however, she was only six years old so she was played by Abby Ryder. Ryder reprised the role a few years later in Ant-Man and the Wasp. We know that she wasn't part of Thanos' Snap since she reappeared in Avengers: Endgame as 14-year-old Emma Fuhrmann.
But in the new Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania film, the actress playing Cassie Lang was Kathryn Newton. Since it's a bright future ahead for her role, we can expect to see Newton return to reprise the role in succeeding shows.
Why Was Cassie Lang Recast in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania?
Marvel didn't exactly reveal why they decided to recast Cassie Lang's role in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania. But given the role is being set up for a brighter future, especially in the Young Avengers, they'd want someone secure for the role.
It's possible that since Fuhrmann is still in school, it could be what stopped her from making such a huge commitment for the role. If anything, her acting definitely wasn't what hindered since she did an exceptional reunion scene with her father in Avengers: Endgame.
Newton, on the other hand, doesn't really need an introduction. She is, after all, considered a rising star. Some of her previous films include Freaky, Big Little Lies, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, and many others.
What is Cassie Lang Superhero Name?
*Spoiler alert* Cassie Lang will be following her father's footsteps. If you've seen the trailers, you may already know that though. But since this is the first time Cassie is discovering what it's like to be a superhero, she doesn't have a superhero name yet. It'll probably be a while before she decides what superhero name to go by.
In the comics, however, Cassie Lang took on the name Stature due to her size-changing powers. But she also goes by the names Stinger and Ant-Girl. But that's a story for another day.
