Warning: if you haven't seen the latest episode of What If...?, this article contains spoilers so read at your own risk.

The good folks over at Marvel Studios sure weren't kidding when they said that anything can happen in the multiverse and What If...?'s second episode pretty much solidified that. What served as a tribute offering to the late Chadwick Boseman was home to several entertaining moments, as well as shocking scenarios that can only take place outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "main" timeline.

The episode revolves around T'Challa aka Star-Lord's mission to help Nebula pay her debt with The Collector and much like the original "Legendary Outlaw" from the main canon, this version of the Guardians of the Galaxy character is also a member of the Ravagers led by his father-figure Yondu. What happens over the course of the episode is something that will catch any Marvel fan off-guard as it features a Thanos variant who is night and day compared to his Earth-616 counterpart.

Shockingly enough, the Mad Titan is an official member of the Ravagers and serves as the group's muscle. He still has his genocidal instincts but after being defeated by Star-Lord himself, the former villain chose a different path in life and it's definitely a sight that would take a lot of getting used to. During the latter part of the episode, Thanos even fights off his former minions aka the Dark Order with the help of his adoptive daughter Nebula. It's pretty weird seeing them fight side-by-side and portrayed as heroes, to be honest.

I gotta say, What If...?'s premiere episode wasn't something so spectacular which is a shame because it didn't start the way it should have. Thankfully, Episode 2 redeems the series and after seeing it myself, I'm excited to see more multiversal stories unfold in the future.

What If...? is already streaming on Disney+.
