What Happened in The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Episode 7?
The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Episode 7 is all about fake money and missing wealth.
Evidence that Gettan had created fake banknotes for the cult to undermine Mitsugoshi's authority gives Alpha hope that Cid's treacherous banknotes were part of his work against the cult.
A coded letter from Cid tells Alpha everything she needs to know, including the location of the missing gold.
Of course, this wasn't Cid's real plan. He hadn't thought that the Shadow Garden members would understand his letter and was shocked to find the gold missing.
Not knowing that Alpha retrieved it, he thinks it's Gettan who stole it. Gettan and Yukime then fight. Cid defeats Gettan and saves Yukime under his 'John Smith' alias.
Yukime recognizes Cid as the person who helped her in the past.
Later, Alpha attempts to recruit her in the Shadow Garden, which she accepts due to her feelings for Cid.
Having misunderstood Gettan's dying words, Cid still believes that it was he who took the gold.
As such, he and Delta dig for weeks all around the snowy fields where Cid defeated Gettan, in hopes of finally retrieving it.
Cid decides to stop digging, and he starts planning his next steps until the Shadow Garden forgives him.
At that point, Delta digs something precious that surprises her. So, what did she discover, and why is it important?
What Did Delta Find in the Snow?
While some fans think that Delta found a high-tech object, the truth is a bit more mundane (and expensive). The object that Delta found is a red, shiny gem.
This is revealed in Chapter 56 of The Eminence in Shadow manga, where Delta returns to Cid, wanting to be praised for her finding.
How Will Delta's Discovery Affect the Story Moving Forward?
Delta's finding doesn't seem too important at first; if anything, the gem can be viewed as just another item to sell.
However, the gem turns out to contain the memories of the witch Aurora and much of her hatred.
It is a crystalization of her power, not unlike the pills Shadow Garden makes.
Without spoiling much, if Aurora manages to retrieve the gem, this would have important ramifications for everyone involved.
As such, we expect major twists in the upcoming episodes of the isekai anime.
