We're Getting A Millennial Batman Graphic Novel

Batman's origin has been retold again and again, so seeing another one is hardly a surprise to longtime comic book fans. However, this one has a bit of a twist to it; not only will it have a big vehicular focus but it will also turn Bruce Wayne into a Millennial. Fans better start their engines for Batman: Overdrive, a DC Zoom graphic novel coming from DC Super Hero Girls writer Shea Fontana.

The series was previously announced when both DC Zoom and DC Ink lines were revealed. While there is no official artist for Batman: Overdrive yet, Bleeding Cool has revealed our first look at Millennial Batman, or specifically, Millennial Bruce Wayne.

Apparently, the character will be born in 2004 and inherit a car that his dad owned when he was 16. With the help of his friends, Bruce customizes it into the Batmobile, though it's not yet clear if he will be fighting crime in it.

Bruce does have a Robin-like staff in the concept art, so it does seem like he will be fighting a few thugs here and there. Similar to the Green Lantern: Legacy graphic novel announced not too long ago, no artist has been credited yet, though there is a signature in the illustration. Here is hoping that more news on this story comes out soon.

Batman: Overdrive is slated for an April 2019 release.
