Wednesday became a massive hit on Netflix when it was released in the fall of 2022. Soon after, the series was renewed for a second season and received several accolades including for the performance of Jenna Ortega as the titular character.
Following several months of delay due to the Hollywood labor strikes last year, the second season is finally set to begin production this spring and fans are already looking forward to seeing what they have in store.

Wednesday Star Jenna Ortega Reveals Season 2 Will Be 'More Horror' and 'More Action-Packed'
In an interview with E! during the red carpet at last night's Primetime Emmy Awards, Wednesday star Jenna Ortega shared some details on what they have in store for the show's highly-anticipated second season.
She revealed that the show's next chapter will lean more into the horror elements and the scope is bigger than the first season.
"I've received some scripts for the second season and we're definitely leaning into more horror," she said.
"It's really, really exciting because all throughout the show, Wednesday does need a bit of an arc. She never really changes and that's the wonderful thing about her."
Ortega also noted that the new season will have "some really, really good one liners and "everything's bigger" and "more action-packed."
She concluded, "I think each episode will probably feel a little bit like a movie, which is nice."
The actress was in attendance at last night's Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony as she was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category for her performance in the series. However, she lost to Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary).
It is an exciting tease about the upcoming season of the series since it looks like they are aiming to step up from the first season and potentially have a darker tone if that's what Ortega meant with her comments.
Hopefully, the show's sophomore run will have the same quality as the first season and it will take on a creative direction that is exciting for the millions of fans who are anticipating its return.
