Wednesday Reportedly Set for Season 2 Renewal Soon

Wednesday became Netflix's latest giant hit as it has broken several records on the streamer and it is the third show ever in its history to reach one billion hours of views within the first month of its streaming. A lot of fans have been anxiously waiting for its second season renewal which seems very inevitable at this point considering the records that it smashed.

A recent report from Deadline has confirmed that Wednesday's second-season renewal is imminent. However, the official word is expected to come out during the new year although early work is already underway as writers have been asked to join the writer's room and the producers are looking for new locations.

They also added that Netflix and MGM, the producer of the series and is now owned by its rival Amazon, are still under negotiations regarding the renewal although talks are expected to run smoothly and Amazon's ownership of MGM will not derail any future seasons conversation.

It is great to hear that the second season renewal of the series is guaranteed which should surprise no one considering all the records it has broken. While we have seen Netflix cancel some hit shows, it looks like it won't be the case at all for this and we might be expecting a longer shelf life if the records become consistent in the future seasons.

For now, all we can do is wait for the official soon which we should expect in just a few weeks as we're getting closer to the reported new year window of the announcement.

The series is "a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."

The cast includes Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, Luis Guzman, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Emma Myers, Naomi J. Ogawa, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, and George Burcea.
