The new Addams Family series Wednesday became the latest hit on Netflix. Some may say, it is a bigger success than everyone can imagine since it's already beating a lot of viewership records even though it is barely a month since it was released on the streamer. Now, yet again, the series has bagged another impressive record.
According to Variety, Wednesday has crossed one billion total hours of views on Netflix, making it the third title to achieve the record after Squid Game and the fourth season of Stranger Things. It now has also become the second most popular English-language series on Netflix, surpassing Dahmer.
However, the report indicated that it is unlikely that the series will beat Stranger Things season 4 since it is getting closer to the 28-day window where the viewership is calculated. Nevertheless, it is still an impressive achievement for the series.
This is certainly yet again evidence of the show's continuing bigger success and we can definitely say at this point that it will get renewed for a second season, considering all the records that it is breaking. Now that we're near its 28th day, it would be curious to see what the final total hours of views will be.
The series is "a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."
The cast also includes Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, Luis Guzman, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Emma Myers, Naomi J. Ogawa, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, and George Burcea.
