With the Fall 2021 anime season upon us, many anime fans are wondering where to watch the forthcoming releases, including Blue Period, a highly anticipated slice-of-life school anime about a teenager who explores his love for painting. Is the show on Netflix, Crunchyroll, Funimation, or Hulu? The answer might actually surprise you! Here's how to watch the show online with English subtitles:

IsBlue Periodon Netflix?

Yes! In the past, Netflix anime would be released weekly on Netflix Japan, and only then would they make it to the rest of the world, as completed seasons. After all, Netflix built its reputation partly on the fact that you can binge shows immediately. However, as more and more streaming platforms appear, Netflix has to remain competitive, and there seems to be a shift in the platform's treatment of certain anime.

The new trend seems to be the introduction of micro-seasons; such has been the case with Shaman King (2021). In the case of Blue Period, Netflix is going to make new episodes available weekly, as would be the case in any other streaming platform; we'd just have to wait a week longer if the early release of Episode 1 in Japan is any indication.

Is Blue Period on Hulu?

Blue Period is not going to be available on Hulu, at least not yet. However, the streaming platform is home to many anime titles, including classics like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and newer titles such as Mushoku Tensei and The Promised Neverland.

Is Blue Period on Crunchyroll?

Crunchyroll has one of the richest anime libraries out there, but Blue Period isn't going to be in it this season. The titles you can watch on Crunchyroll this anime season include but are not limited to The World's Finest Assassin and Takt. Op Destiny.

Crunchyroll shows can be watched for free with ads, but a subscription that starts from $7.99 a month will allow you to watch hundreds of titles as they come out, ad-free!

Is Blue Period on Funimation?

Funimation has many great shows to choose from, but Blue Period won't be one of them for the moment. There are many Fall anime you can watch on Funimation instead, such as Mieruko-Chan and Taisho Otomoe Fairytale.

If you're considering a premium Funimation account, you can opt for the free trial first, to decide if it's for you. From there on, your membership starts from $5.99 per month or $59.99 annually.
