In takt op. Destiny, the world is forever changed after a meteorite crashed into the planet and monsters called D2 showed up. These monsters banned all forms of music — but there are a number of people who resisted this. There are women called Musicart, who possess scores of classical music that have the ability to defeat these monsters. These people are led by someone called a Conductor.
The anime stars Takt Asahina, a Conductor who wishes to bring music back to the world. He works alongside a Musicart named Destiny, who holds the score of Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67." She wishes to get rid of the D2. The story is set in the year 2047 in America.
Unlike usual anime adaptations, takt op. Destiny isn't an adaptation of a manga or light novel. Takt Op. is a mixed-media project by Bandai Namco Arts and DeNA. The anime is a collaboration between MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan Final Season) and Madhouse (Death Note, Hunter x Hunter).
