Watch: 8-Years-Old MTG Player Dana Fischer Gives A Deck Tech For Modern Elves

At MagicFest Los Angeles last weekend, 8-year-old Magic: The Gathering player Dana Fischer became the youngest person ever to make it Day 2 at a Magic Grand Prix with her Modern Elves deck. Now, you can watch the Elves Master talk about her favorite deck in this clip from MagicFest Los Angeles 2019.

PleasantKenobi interviewed Fischer, who was wearing her Nissa costume, for the deck tech. When asked what the cards in her deck does, Fischer explains: "Llanowar Elves helps me gets more mana so then I can cast like an Archdruid on Turn 2 instead of Turn 3, and I can be casting things earlier than I'm supposed to. Shaman of the Pack helps me get around Worship and also helps me possibly do a Turn-2 kill, possibly, and Ezuri helps me get my elves bigger and kill my opponent."

Fischer proves that her knowledge of the Modern meta is sharp. When asked what decks she doesn't want to play against, Fischer says, "Izzet Phoenix, Jeskai Control, Living End, Infect, or Storm."

And when asked what decks she wants to play against, she says, "Merfolk, Humans, Spirits, and Tron,"

And her favorite card? "It's a tie between Elvish Archdruid and Ezuri," Fischer said.

Dana Fischer is truly a master of Modern Elves and watching a smart 8-year-old do a deck tech with ChannelFireball Events is one of the most memorable moments I've seen in recent Grand Prix events.

Last year, Wizards of the Coast released an Enter the Battlefield documentary featuring Dana Fischer, and in that video, she said that her goal was to become the youngest Magic player to make it Day 2, and now, she has accomplished her goal!
