WandaVision pretty much gave us our first taste of Wanda Maximoff's true capabilities as the Scarlet Witch and if you were able to catch that eerie post-credits scene which sees Maximoff already mastering how to astral project as she's scrolling through the pages of the Darkhold, you'll know for sure that she's on her way to unlocking her untapped potential.

The mystical "Book of the Damned" has been in the MCU for quite some time now. In fact, long before it made its "debut" in WandaVision, the said demonic scripture which originated from the Dark Dimension was first featured in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and was last seen in Robbie Reyes aka Ghost Rider's possession.

There has been a lot of confusion amongst fans whether the Darkhold we saw in WandaVision was the exact same book that was featured in the hit ABC series. Now, showrunner Jac Schaeffer is finally bringing in some clarity surrounding the book and according to her, AOS' Darkhold isn't canon to WandaVision's. In an interview with ScreenRant, she explains: "I've been getting that question, and I don't have a hard and fast answer. We were not looking at that book. This was the Darkhold for this story."

Schaeffer's remarks may have only added more confusion but it's worth noting that the general belief amongst MCU diehards is that all of the Marvel spinoff shows (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and more) aren't exactly part of the franchise's current continuity, or not anymore, at least.

And although Kevin Feige has never confirmed nor denied whether they're canon to the MCU or not, we have to point out that none of the existing stories in the said shows seemed to have had an effect on the films Marvel Studios has produced so I'm guessing they weren't truly canon all along.

Meanwhile, all episodes of WandaVision are available for streaming on Disney+.
