The Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss, but I’m Not the Demon Lord, or simply the Villainess Level 99 light novel, is not yet over and is still ongoing as of this writing.
It started as a web novel series on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2018, before the Japanese publishing company Fujimi Shobo stepped in to publish Villainess Level 99 as a light novel under their Kadokawa Books imprint the following year.
Japanese author Satori Tanabata penned the series, while Tea is behind its illustrations.
In addition to the web and light novel, Villainess Level 99 also has a manga adaptation Nokomi created, which began in February 2020 in Enterbrain’s B’s Log Comic magazine.
How Many Volumes Does the Villainess Level 99 Light Novel Have?
So far, the Villainess Level 99 light novel series has six Japanese volumes and five English volumes in circulation.
While Fujimi Shobo is in charge of its Japanese distribution, J-Novel Club has the license for its English distribution.
The first volume of the series was released on May 10, 2019, with Yumiella Dolkness, Patrick Ashbatten, Alicia Ehnleit, and Prince Edwin on the cover.
Volume six was released in Japan on January 10, 2024, but its English counterpart has no exact release date yet.
