MCU fans have always speculated on Tom Hardy’s Venom joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe to fight Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in his universe.

While Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home did show the titular symbiote crossing over each other’s universes, fans continue to question as to how Marvel plans on making the characters meet.

You might want to sit down for this one. Disney+ has just officially announced that Sony Pictures’ Venom starts streaming on the service on Friday, May 12!

It is worth mentioning that even Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy, Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man films, and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Homecoming will also start streaming on Disney+ on the same date.

This report may not confirm anything, but fans are eager to speculate that this is Marvel and Disney banding together to tease the future of merging Sony’s Spider universe with the MCU.

There has been no update yet on whether we’re seeing Tom Holland fight Venom in Spider-Man 4, but Venom 3 has been previously reported to face off with a Spider-Man.

Though the report mentions no specific Spider-Man version, many fans theorized it would be Andrew Garfield’s or Tom Holland’s.

Garfield, because he’s a part of the Sony-verse, and Holland, well, to canonize that Venom and Spider-Man are going to be in the same universe.

Marvel has long been planning on bringing in more supers into the MCU, which will start off with Deadpool 3, when Ryan Reynolds’ anti-hero and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine join the universe.

This will inevitably bring in more mutants and X-Men characters to be canonized in the franchise. Not to mention, Fantastic Four has already found their final Mister Fantastic (not John Krasinski).

It would be interesting to see how Marvel plays off with Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man meeting each other in a future project. For now, we’ll have to wait for official announcements.

Sony Pictures’ Venom will start streaming on Disney+ on May 12 along with Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy, Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man films, as well as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
